Farmers Blend Kimchi by Jiak
Throughout the harvest season, farmers persevere through nature’s challenges, sometimes resulting in perfectly tasty produce that might not be pretty enough for the farm stand. In the spirit of minimizing food waste and advocating for ecological farming, Jiak has partnered with local organic farms to give “ugly produce” a second life.
Featuring kohlrabi and carrots from Sycamore Farm Market, kale from Aslan Organics, cabbage and bell peppers from Taproots Green Gardens, Jiak Farmers Blend kimchi was born. Limited quantities of spicy kale kimchi and cabbage white kimchi are now available from all three farms.
Kale Mak-kimchi
Lambton-made, naturally fermented, vegan and gluten-free. Jiak’s Farmers Blend Kale mak kimchi uses kale in place of napa cabbage, and kohlrabi in place of daikon radish. Using the traditional spicy kimchi recipe while showcasing local Lambton produce, our kale kimchi has hearty, earthy undertones with a spicy kick. Contains soy
Cabbage Baek Kimchi
Jiak’s Farmers Blend Cabbage Baek kimchi is vegan, gluten-free, naturally fermented and Lambton-made. A non-spicy kimchi variety that tastes mild and refreshing, it’s particularly popular amongst kids and people with a more sensitive palate. All the benefits of kimchi, without the spice.
