The head lettuce that makes up the garden salad is harvested fresh and pre-cut for your convenience. Browning on the cut edges of the is a result of a natural process called oxidation, and is unfortunately unavoidable. It does not mean that the lettuce is old or bad and does not affect the taste if it is consumed within the week. It is the price we have to pay for convenience of pre-cut and washed salads.
